Help Us Keep Students Safe: The Importance of Absence Reporting

When a student isn't in class and we haven't heard from home, our first thought is always safety: Is the child safe, or did something happen on the way to school? Unexplained absences mean our administrative staff must spend time tracking down missing students, which delays our ability to respond quickly if a child is actually unaccounted for.

Reporting an absence takes less than two minutes, but it makes a massive difference to our day-to-day operations and Ensures Student Safety we immediately know your child is safely with you or a designated caregiver. We will not assume, if your child was sick on Monday and attendance was only given for 1 day, we will always make contact if they are absent the next day and we have not heard from you.

Please remember to notify the school office by 8:55 AM whenever your child will be absent or late, along with a reason for the absence. Giving a reason for absence is a Ministry of Education requirement  The only way to log absences is via our school app and school website or by calling our attendance line at 844 7837 option 2. You can give absence for multiple days.

Good morning

There are a lot of Winter illnesses about at the moment.  Please do not be tempted to send your child to school if they are feeling unwell.  If an unwell child is sent to sickbay you will be phoned and asked to collect them.  Thanks for your assistance with this.

Yr 7/8 netball tournament - details have been sent out.

There will be a Year 7 & 8 touch rugby trial this Thursday at lunchtime for our upcoming tournament. If your child is interested in playing, please encourage them to attend the trial, as tamariki need to trial in order to be considered for the team.
